Re: npm install error installing simctl module

I found my error.

The error came from the fact that I tried to install npm modules into a synched folder from the guest machine.

What I did:

1 - vagrant up

2 - clone your moodle mobile into a folder ignored by vagrant. I used "~/mm"

3 - install all your npm modules there. https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Setting_up_your_development_environment_for_Moodle_Mobile_2

4 - copy your node_modules folder from ~/mm/node_module to your vagrant dir

That worked for me

Hope it helps

Yesterday this message was posted on the H5P forums at https://h5p.org/comment/26435#comment-26435

"Good news! H5P for Moodle Mobile has been released. However the offline mode is not yet avaible but it is coming soon.

-BV52"

On my local Moodle test site i have the latest H5P version 1.17.2 dated 2019031301 and I can see in its folder that mobile is enabled.

To test it I use the moodle mobile test site at https://mobileapp.moodledemo.net/

Indeed the H5P activities I created do not display the icon meaning that these activities are only available by going to the site itself. So I should be able to display my H5P activity in the mobile app.

However, when I click on the link to the H5P activity I get this error message:

This site is not configured properly for displaying mobile H5P content. Please contact a site administrator.

What am I missing?

Local dev server & trusted SSL Certificate

Hi Guys,

I searched the whole forum for a solution but couldn't find one. I am in the process of developing my first Moodle Mobile app and hit a wall with Moodle requiring a trusted SSL Certificate to enable the Mobile functionality.

I understand why an online website should have a trusted SSL Cert but this is causing problem for me with an internal dev server. I am running my dev Moodle 3.6.2 install on a vagrant (Debian 9.8) accessible with a self-signed cert on an IP address on Linux Mint.

I am sure someone figured out the SSL problem on dev server before. I don't want to develop and test my app on a production server (we currently have 2000 students) and I can't get a trusted cert on a local dev server.

What do you guys develop your Moodle Mobile app on? What is your setup/workflow?

Any advice/suggestion/article are welcome

Thank you in advance for your support

Hello,

I get an error when I download and unzip a SCORM package, using Moodle Moblie App for Android  - "This content is not playable on a mobile device."

We use Moodle 3.3.2+ (Build: 20170928) and as an Administrator of the system, I think I've done everything as described in the documentation. I have installed the additional features plugin and also configured it, as explained here .

So it seems that everything works fine (authentication, viewing files, file download, even SCORM download and unzip works fine), but for some reason I still get this error. I've tried turning error messages on from the App, but the error stays the same. (no additional feedback sad )

I've found the unzipped files on my phone, and they seem to be alright, I can play the videos. So the real problem is that the SCORM package as a whole can't be opened by the App for some reason.

Can someone please help me with this?

Thanks very much! Best Regards,

Nikolay N.

Hi

I thought this was a reasonably easy question is there honestly not a single person using moodle that has the answer?

Hi - I am trying to build a custom app using this as the source: https://unicef-ipci.moodlecloud.com/.

As you can see, it allows guest and create new accounts. But when I open my app in the desktop, I see the following.

Login in screen

with nothing below it. I am not sure what I need to do to allow users to create an account from this interface.  Thanks.

Can I access the Mahara app via moodle app, so the user needs to log-in only in moodle app?

If not possible then should I need to develop another Moodle app to implement the same functionality.

Please suggest

Hello again,

UPDATE - So I was able to play one of our SCORM packages on Moodle Mobile, so I am guessing the problem may be related to the packages themselves, so I will contact the course vendor, for the mobile issues.

Another issue - I've decided to test Moodle Desktop , so after I confirm the download, and it starts,  I can see that a .tmp file is created, and after some waiting the Desktop App just displays a white screen? (please check attached screenshots).

This happens when I try to download the same SCORM packages (even the one which works on Moodle Mobile).

So is it possible that this problem is still package related, or may be an issue with Moodle Desktop?

Thanks,

Nikolay

SSO authentication and Android

We are using Moodle 3.4 and Moodle Mobile 3.6. We have SSO auth on the site, so the mobile setting is to use the browser (not embedded) for login. When logging into the site via the mobile app on Android devices, the redirect from the SSO browser window login takes 30-45 seconds to complete. It is almost immediate on iOS devices. Our SSO auth plugin is using the $SESSION->wantsurl correctly as far as I can tell. Does anyone have suggestions for what might be causing this issue?

Any feedback is most appreciated!

a picture like this:

which will help learners to access quickly and easily to where they want to go?

and when click into an area defined (or a block like in the picture below), it goes to a forum or an activity?

ideally we can setup this interface as the "homepage" when they open the moodle app.

Hi everybody,

we are also interested in this. We have almost the same configuration and our H5P content will not show inside the App. It's giving us the same message (...not configured properly) or just stays blank.

Our H5P content is embedded into a lesson and "hidden but available".

Is there a certain permission needed for the users?

Latest Moodle version, plugin version 1.17.2 and App version 3.62

Stefan,

Did you try doing this...

Site administration -> Security -> HTTP security -> Allow frame embedding

I was having troubles similar to what you described until I changed this setting.

Hi Elton

Thank you so much for this information - that did the trick! It works now at least for the mobile app on ios 11. Still doesn't show content on ios 7 and android (using an older version). Is there a list around of all supported operating systems?

Kind regards from Hamburg,

Stefan

I still can't get it to work. It must be to do with the SMART device OS or my Moodle version. I have iframe embedding switched on, but still no luck. I need to find someone in my organisation with iOS 11 to test it out for me!

Moodle version: 3.4

H5p version: 1.17.2

iFrame embedding: enabled

App version: 3.6.1

SMART OS: Android 7 (nougat)
