Hi Juan,

What’s the current outlook for Bootstrap compatibility with 3.5? I would say it needs to support all the components but as a minimum: Alerts, Buttons, Labels, Tables, Grid (all with the styled classes eg info, primary, success, danger etc).

Outstide of BS there have been issues with basic CSS styling (eg h1-6). Will these be fixed for the new release?

Cheers,
Ian

Hi,

This is not a priority at all.

  1. What is the policy for images? It seems that images in cards need to be very narrow and long to avoid being "half hidden". What is the "recommended" format?
  2. In an assignment, if there is a video in the description, it is half hidden. I would propose that in activities the images is by default no half hidden (and can be shrunk with a click).

Here is a "try to show" video.

Thanks for the app.

Regards

François

Undoubtedly.

Anyway, this new version is upgrading to Ionic 3. Does that mean you'll be using ES6?

Displaying iframe content in Labels with Moodle Mobile

by Derek Henderson.

On a label in a course we are trying to use an iframe to display a page - something similar to:

<iframe height="600" width="900" src="https://tsn.ca" title="sports"> </iframe>

This displays fine on the standard site but does not display on the mobile app.

If on a page, we use the same code on the description and 'click on Display description on course page Help with Display description on course page' , the iframe content also does not display.

The app is using Moodle mobile 3.4.2.

There is a plugin to restrict access if users are accessing via the app or not. See here: https://moodle.org/plugins/availability_mobileapp

With this installed you can create separate resources (e.g. Page/URL/File) for the two videos with app restrictions, showing the correct resource for the device your users are on.

Thank you very much for your answer.

I just tested. Plugin interesting, but the resource remains visible (but not clickable) depending on the consultation platform (site or app). I would have liked to find a solution that really makes the resource invisible in the context of consultation.

I'm still looking…

When setting the access restriction click the eye icon to get a line striking through it. This will ensure the activity is hidden entirely if they don't meet the criteria.

Are filter plugins still on the roadmap or do you plan some other approach?

Is there native iPhone X support planned anytime soon?  As far as I know, iPhone X support is a requirement for all new app submissions starting from April:

Articulate Storyline 2 SCORMs and Moodle Mobile App

by Amanda Rubython.

Hi there,

Hoping someone can help. I have a client who is using the Moodle Mobile App and is having some launch issues with SCORMactivities built using Articulate Storyline 2. The SCORMs have been published with prompt to resume enabled. When the SCORM is reopened and yes/no is selected a white screen appears. The only way to see the SCORM content is to use the back button.

The steps to replicate the issue would be:

  • User opens SCORM in Moodle Mobile App (1st view)
  • User views a few pages within the SCORM and closes
  • User re-opens SCORM. On launch message appears - Would you like to resume.
  • User selects yes or no. White screen displays.

Some details about what is being used:

Moodle 3.1.1 (Build: 20160711)
Moodle Mobile App: 3.4.2 Version Code 2023
SCORM activities settings attached
Screen shot of issue attached.

I can give you student access to a Moodle with the SCORM activity to demonstrate what is happening if that helps?

Thanks so much

Manda

Hi Juan,

Do you have any documentation or guideline for module development for moodlemobile v3.5.0

Hi Grayson,

we're using Typescript and ES6 to write the app's code. When Ionic builds the app, it transpiles all that code to ES5.

Kind regards,

Dani

Hi Ian!

Thanks for your question. We are currently working on the new version and we don't have the final image of what we will support. As you may know, Ionic and Bootstrap have many things in common but also it could create conflicts. It's not easy to support everything and there are many Bootstrap versions.

However, we will support main content format classes like text-left, right, center... text-success, danger etc... In order to discuss and improve all this topic I've created an issue. We should discuss the scope of Bootstrap and Fontawesome support.

Have a great day! Cheers!

Pau
